GREECE ATTICA SARONIC ISLANDS KALLONI

In 2005-06 a Middle Helladic (2000 BC - 1600 BC) settlement measuring 110 x 50 m was excavated on the flat top of Agios Georgios hill south of Kalloni pictured here. Lying in a strategic position near the shore of the Saronic Gulf it continued to be inhabited into the early Mycenaean period.

The site is unsignposted and unfenced, but during my visit in September 2024 I could not find an easy way up the hill.
